Hèrmes chief executive Jean-Louise Dumas designed and named a bag, later known as the Birkin bag, in 1984 for Jane Birkin. It is now a symbol of luxury which is popular among top celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker or Demi Moore.

Some women love kitten heels, some loathe them with a passion. Their advocates praise this type of shoes for the comfort factor whereas haters criticise them for looking like shoes their granny would wear.

I'm personally glad that kitten heels made a return last autumn because I was fed up with seeing sky-high platforms everywhere I looked. Although kitten heels don't provide the leg-lengthening, calf-defining benefits traditional high heels give us, they make every woman look sexy and glamorous. Plus, they are so easy to walk in. Thanks to the heel height, they offer more stability than famous stilettos.
